Become the hero you were meant to be.

Male Depression

Every man, questioning whether he has what it takes, is predisposed to carry a secret sorrow most often disguised as anger, grandiosity, lust, toughness, or success.

“A wound that goes unacknowledged and unwept is a wound that cannot heal.”

John Eldredge
I Don’t Want to Talk About It by Terrence Real

This is the primer in my opinion of what we call “hidden or covert depression” in men. It provides a great explanation for how our society and culture have perpetuated the emotional challenges men face and have difficulty expression.

Wild at Heart by John Eldredge

Putting aside the controversy of this book, I don’t think I’ve read another book that helped me understand my own masculine heart more than this one. Eldredge put language to the deeper desires of my heart.

Becoming a King by Morgan Snyder

Just an awesome book that touches on healing the heart of a man and gaining a vision for the type of life we want to experience.

Childhood Trauma and the Non-Alpha Male by Douglas Carpenter

Carpenter does not shy away from highlighting the difficulties men face – in the world and in their own head. Bullying, shame, fatherlessness – it’s all in here. He also offers encouragement for what to do about it.

Sage by Chris Bruno

If I were to give a book to every man I know, this would be the book. I love this book so much. It lays out the path to becoming the type of men we deeply desire to become. And it exposes the specific challenges of the heart we face along the way at different ages/seasons.

To be a Man by Robert Augustus Masters

Masters is a master in the field. He knows guys so well, and he touches on everything from sex to anger to violence to relationships. I especially encourage women to read this book.
